The Concert Band is an ensemble designed to focus on the younger musician and it is offered for 9th grade students who are new to an instrument, students who are new to the program, as well as current students that wish to learn a new instrument. To give proper instruction to everyone, students will be auditioned in the first weeks of school

Overview

The Quartz Hill Concert Band is open to all students who have a desire to learn a new instrument or for incoming 9th graders with developing music skills from middle school. It introduces music theory and helps students develop the techniques needed for high school musical performance.

Members are expected to maintain high standards of musicianship, discipline, and commitment all through the year as we perform in festivals, community performances, and concerts.

Concert Band performs grade 1-2.5 literature and participates in several concerts and festivals during the school year.

Responsibilities & Requirement

Membership Responsibilities:

  • Attend all rehearsals, sectionals, clinics, and performances

  • Prepare and perform concert and festival repertoire

  • Adhere to all policies outlined in the Quartz Hill Instrumental Music Program handbook

Enrollment Requirement:
